The old log house was used as a bran. the farm was sold and the family moved to Lathrop , Missouri in 1899. Orvan attended school at Lathrop from the first through 12th. grades, he was a member o f the High School graduating class 1911 and worked as a bookkeeper at the Lathrop Bank for a little over a year. Then he moved to California to engage in the Auto business. In 1944 he helped build a race car and followed that and auto business until after W. W. I. He was a member o f the original crew that started the Naval Air Station in San Diego in Oct, 1917. He married Lucille Bell of Lincoin, N. E. on Nov 24, 1919. They have two children, Both are electronic engineers and living in Orange County, California. Glenn took a teacher training course at the University of California, Southern branch (now U. C. L. A.) in 1923 and taught in the high school in Long Beach, california for 6 years when he gave up teaching for farming which he followed until retiring with the exception of the last 4 years (1955-1959) when he worked as an electronic technician.

The original tombstone on John Henry's grave was replaced by this grandson, Clarence Vennekohl. The replacement tombstone was originally on Emma Vennekohl's grave (Clarence's mother). She died when she was only 46 and had a stone with only her information. When her husband, Henry (Clarence's father) died, Clarence placed a stone with both his parent's information on the graves. The stone with Emma's information was recarved with John Henry's information and placed on his grave.

Julia, Johann's widow, was quite a bit younger than he was. She married when she was 16 and she was only 34 when he died. In Johann's will, his estate went to Julia as long as she remained a widow. She married John Gall in 1881. When she married, Johann's estate went to his children. Because they were underage, a guardian was assigned by the courts--Henry Zimmerman. I have the document that makes Henry Zimmerman the guardian of the estate. John Gall was a widower. His first wife had 12 children and his second wife 1 child. He and Julia had 2 children, Vida and Julia. Let me know if you want the information on his first 2 marriages. Julia's parents were Henry Theis (I have also seen this spelled Thies) and Johanna Sanders.
